What is the concern about Vinyl (PVC) products?
The short answer is that Vinyl (polyvinyl chloride) is a plastic that must contain phthalates in order to create a softer, more flexible finished product. This is where your high school chemistry comes in. These phthalates have been found to outgass, and many studies indicate that this offgassing may contribute to allergies in children, as well as more severe health complications over a longer period of time. Studies on rodents involving large amounts of phthalates have shown damage to the liver, the kidneys, the lungs and the developing testes. There are many resources online to learn more about PVC and it's hazards.

Consisting of a waterproof layer of PUL (polyurethane laminate) and a cottony soft layer of microfleece, these changing pads are perfect for the diaper bag or left close to your changing station for quick and easy access. They are nice and soft for baby, slightly absorbent when required, and waterproof...just in case!
