Hand Knit Fair Trade Toys…wild, wooly, whimsical wonders!

Hand knit and fairly traded, these adorable little creatures are sure to put a smile on any toddlers face. When we first saw these little critters, we fell in love. Each hand-crafted piece emanates a sense of joy and when you read the tiny tag with the signature of the woman who has knit your own individual creature, you can’t help but feel good inside. The sale of these hand-knit creations helps support farming communities in Kenya, providing a living wage for women using their often unappreciated (and underpaid!) traditional skills.

Produced from start to finish in Kenya, wool is home spun from local sheep and then left natural or plant-dyed. Environmentally friendly and ecologically sustainable materials have been used in old-world, traditional methods, to create these wonderful toys. Each critter is entirely handmade and there will always be variations in sizes and patterns. No two pieces are ever exactly alike which makes each piece as unique as the child (or adult!) that will enjoy it.
