Q: What does "Organic" mean when it comes to gem stones?

A: The unique and specially selected gem stones used to create each Little Gems necklace are genuine, organic and fairly traded. This means they are the REAL THING - not glass, plastic or crystal imitations which may contain lead, synthesized resin and dyes. Many beads, stones or crystals that are used to make jewelry today contain toxic elements that if a baby were to taste either directly or indirectly (we all know where babies hands end up!) could make them ill or weaken their immune system. Most are even dyed, irradiated and synthetically derived to obtain a desired color, which is why you may encounter fading or the wearing away of your stones color or vibrancy.

Little Gems uses all-natural, undyed, non-irradiated genuine gem stones in each handmade necklaces which are non-toxic and undergo very little processing, other than being washed, cut and polished. They are mined, hand-cut, lovingly shaped by villagers and fairly traded before becoming their finished product - a beautiful keepsake necklace that is sure to be cherished for generations.

Q: How long is a Gemstones Necklace designed to last?

Please keep in mind that your necklace is a piece of jewelry FIRST and that an infant/baby must always be supervised when grasping or gazing at the necklace.
